Easily design your home
I came to this project as a freelance designer who saw a need for a furniture and interior design app. I've been working with customers and with professional suppliers to create the most suitable piece of furniture for the client and their needs. I noticed the difficulty of the customers to explain themselves whilst also facing the difficulty of professional suppliers to understand and do exactly what the customer wants when there is no accurate drawing and visualization. Therefore, I created an application that helps the customer easily visualize design the furniture of his dreams and fit it into the customer's home. Using this application, you can also send your designs to relevant suppliers for price quotes.

The Problem
There are customers who want to have a unique piece of furniture at home or have certain limitations that require them to order a product that demands an exclusive production because the store does not sell furniture that answers the customer's needs.
This whole process is usually much more expensive and exhausting for the customer, and the final product does not always turn out as the customer wanted, This mainly happens if you work directly with the supplier.
If you add a middleman who will prepare drawings and simulations for the supplier and customer, the final product fulfills all the requirements, but the price increases accordingly.
The Solution
I wanted to make it easier for both sides so my solution is an application that allows the customer to easily design in 3D.
This allows the customer to see how the final product will look and thus will be able to see it inside their home through AR technology.
After the design is completed, the customer can easily turn the model that was created into plans for production and from there on receive price offers from relevant suppliers.
For the suppliers it's an accessible and easy way to get new customers. The suppliers get the productions plans from the app and can directly see what the client wants without the need to make time for an appointment and send them sketches until they approve one of them.
Research

Survey
After starting the project, I defined my research strategy and goals for the project. The first thing was to understand my target audience. That is why I started building an online survey which I distributed in different communities to get information from as many different people as possible. I prepared the survey with the help of Google Forms and used several types of questions, including rating questions, multiple choice questions, open-ended questions, and open questions in order to hear from my potential customers things that I might not have thought of myself. 54 people responded to the survey and 60% of those who responded answered that they were very disappointed in the purchase of the last piece of furniture they bought. From the survey, I learned a lot of things that greatly influenced the planning and design of the application. 87% of those who took the survey said that they answered the survey from their mobile phone and not from a computer or tablet. Therefore, I chose to design the application first as a mobile phone application. In addition, I realized from the survey what frustrates the potential customers that I hadn't considered before, and it helped me in the next stages of both the preparation of the persona and the preparation of my hero's journey. 47% of survey respondents answered that the last piece of furniture they bought in their home was not what they originally wanted, Many had to compromise on the colors and materials of the final item because what was available in the store.

Persona
I aimed to gain a deeper understanding of our users' goals, needs, experiences, and behaviors. Thus, I developed a persona to represent the future customer. I based the persona on the survey results and regularly updated it as additional data was gathered during the project. I referenced the persona whenever I needed to consider my ideas from a different perspective. During the design process, I kept the persona in mind and considered what she would like, what would make her comfortable, and how it would solve the problem effectively.

Hero Journey Map
I developed a customer journey map to gain a deeper understanding of the customer's journey to finding and interacting with the service, and to identify areas for improvement. The map highlighted numerous challenges and opportunities in the Consideration and Loyalty phases of the customer journey. As a result, I focused particularly on these stages during the design phase

User Flow
Before I began designing the screens, I needed to understand the user flow. As I created the diagram, I kept the user journey map in mind and envisioned the user's progression through the app to reach the goal of ordering a new sofa for the living room. Creating the diagram helped me organize the content for the application and determine the necessary screen designs.
Wireframes
Following the research stages, I commenced sketching the design of each page and determining the available options for each.
The sketching phase integrates all the insights gathered from the previous research stages.
Initially, I hand-drew the sketches and later utilized Figma to refine the sketches with more precision and detail.
Screens
Having addressed the usability concerns, I progressed to finalize the screen designs using Figma.
The aim was to establish a visual coherence that aligns with the preferences of my target audience and addresses their needs.
Additionally, I thoroughly analyzed various applications and examples for learning and inspiration.
Throughout the sketch and final design phases, I consistently kept the preliminary research insights in mind and aimed to simplify the app and its content to effectively cater to the target audience.
