A special calendar for the spouses of sports fans
In this project, I was asked to plan and design a unique calendar that answers a problem I encounter in my everyday life.
As a wife of a sports fan I had to cancel so many plans I made just because I didn't know there was a game that night. That's why I decided to make a calendar that includes all the sports games that my husband follows.

The Problem
As a wife of a sports fan this whole world of sports games and tournaments entered my world as well (even though it doesn't really interest me just don't tell my husband 😉).
There are so many teams and national teams that my husband follows and it's really challenging for me personally to keep track of when each one is playing and where.
After a few times that I made plans for us for the evening, and then realized that's theres an important game for the team thats he has a subscription to tonight and all my plans go to hell.

The Solution
I decided to create a special calendar that would keep me updated on important games of the teams that my husband likes to watch.
The calendar knows to follow the leagues and tournaments of all types of sports.
You can easily choose the teams that your partner is a fan of and to which team he has a subscription and he goes to their home games.
And so you can easily see in the calendar when he has a game that he goes to and you have the house to yourself, or when there is a game of a team that he and his friends always watch in your livingroom so you can schedule in advance with friends and you will have an excuse to go out 🥳.

Research
01
Survey
After starting the project, I defined my research strategy and objectives. It was important for me to understand if the problem is only mine or if there are other people who encounter this problem as well. First, I built an online survey and shared it with various relevant communities. From the answers given in the survey, I learned what the problems are that most bother those answering the survey. In the survey, I used several types of questions, including multiple choice questions, both ranking questions, and open questions. 48 people answered the survey, 30 of them were women between the ages  of 26-34. I learned from the survey that the problem that bothers the most is the inability to follow conveniently and in one place all the leagues that the spouse is a fan of. As a result of the survey, I focused all subsequent work processes on the main needs of my potential customers. Creating an easy to use interface that gathers all the information they need.

02
Persona
I wanted to create a deeper understanding of the goals, needs, experiences, and behaviors of our users. So I created a persona that describes the future customer. The preparation of the persona was based on the surveys, and I continued to update it throughout the project as more data was collected. I used this persona whenever I wanted to step outside of my own head and reconsider my initial ideas Since I entered this project out of a personal problem of mine, it was important for me to create a persona that would help me see the problem from other directions. Throughout the characterization and design process, I had the persona in mind, thinking about what she would like and be comfortable with and what would help her answer the problem in the best way.

03
User Journey
With my future users in mind who testified in the survey that they were looking for an efficient and simple solution then, I drew a user journey map in the current state, to identify opportunities for improvement. I identified the steps they go through along the way and understood where the application can be inserted and what is required in order to meet their needs in the best way.

Wireframe
After all the stages of the research, I started making sketches of how each page was going to look and what options will exist on each one.
The sketch stage is actually the stage that brings together everything I learned from the previous research stages.
At first, I drew the sketches by hand and then switched to Figma to make the sketches more accurate and specific.

Screens
Once the usability issues were resolved, I moved on to designing the final screens in Figma. My goal was to create a visual unity that would suit my target audience and help me meet their needs. Also, I examined in depth various applications and examples to learn and take inspiration from.
Both in the sketch phase and the final design phase, I always had the preliminary research in mind and it was important to me to simplify the application and its content to be able to respond in the best way for the target audience.
